When does electricity count as 100% renewable for ERE-E?

For grid electricity, the renewable share is 50.5% in 2026. Qualifying renewable generation can count as 100%, but only for the portion that meets the conditions.

The 100% routes apply to businesses. For private individuals, the booking service provider always uses the grid average, including those with solar panels.

Two eligible routes

For generation at the delivery location, the generation installation and delivery to transport must be within the same WOZ property.

For a direct line, electricity travels straight from another generation location to the delivery location, outside the public grid. According to the NEa, the locations must be in two different WOZ properties with different owners. Only the delivery location may have a grid connection.

Both routes require Guarantees of Origin for non-grid delivery. Before registration, the registrant must transfer them to the NEa account at VertiCer and enter the certificate number in the REV. Ordinary Guarantees of Origin for grid electricity do not meet this requirement.

No operating subsidy may have been received for the registered electricity. A subsidy award without payment does not itself exclude the route. Keep evidence that no subsidy was received for the relevant period. Generation from biomass, landfill gas, sewage treatment gas and biogas is excluded from this route.

Hourly measurements

If the generation installation also supplies other consumers or exports to the grid, demonstrate renewable deliveries to transport per hour or more precisely. Monthly or annual totals are insufficient.

Solar generation during the day does not prove that all overnight charging used renewable electricity. Electricity supplied to buildings or exported to the grid stays outside the claim.

Storage needs additional data

For a battery that receives only renewable electricity and supplies only transport, demonstrate what entered the battery and was later delivered to transport.

If the battery is also connected to the grid or other consumers, record hourly incoming and outgoing flows and its renewable content. Only the renewable portion demonstrably delivered to transport can count as 100%. Without that evidence, the NEa allows the final transport delivery to use the grid factor, provided the other registration requirements are met.

How much does it change?

At 100% renewable, 100,000 kWh gives a calculated 65,880 ERE-E. Using the 2026 grid factor gives 33,269.4. These are units, not euros. Their sale price is variable.
